Sheepadoodles.org: How long have you been breeding Sheepadoodles and how did you get started?

Jill from Poodles2doodles.com: I have been breeding Sheepadoodles for 4 years. I was contacted by a family who previously had bought a Goldendoodle puppy from me and they saw a Sheepadoodle on Pintrest and feel in love. When they first contacted me I was not interested in starting another breed however curiosity got the best of me and let's face it the black and white faces were to die for so I started digging into the history of the Old English Sheepdog.
In my search I also started to fall in love with what people were saying about the breed and their temperament so I took the next step and started working closely with a breeder who had been breeding the Old English Sheepdogs for years and as I got to spend time with the breed and learn what amazing, laid back, goofy personalities they had.  I was intrigued to see what an amazing family dog the Old English Sheepdog and the poodle would produce for families looking for a fun and loyal puppy. The breeder I had been working with sold me my first female and after she cleared health testing and OFA testing we had our first litter. It was love at first sight, besides being beautiful they were very easy to train. The Sheepadoodle is hands down one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever raised.

Sheepadoodles.org: How do you select the dog parents?  What qualities do you look for?

Jill from Poodles2doodles.com: We generally only use two breeders to get our adults from, we do this because we know the lineage of their lines and they fully health test their adults as well so we know we have good breeding stock without health issues.
Sheepadoodles.org: Do you offer a health guarantee or any sort of contract with the new owners?

Jill from Poodles2doodles.com: We are one of the few if not only breeder that give a full 4 year genetic health guarantee on all our puppies.

Sheepadoodles.org: How are your puppies socialized and when do you start?

Jill from Poodles2doodles.com: Our puppies are socialized by humans and different animals multiple times a day. We have 5 year old twins that are with mom and puppies when they are born and they are played with, loved on and spoiled by them until they leave with their new families. I am hands on with every puppy we have and we also have high school and college students that come in to interact with them as they get older. We make sure all our puppies are use to household noises like radio, TV, washer and dries, vacuums, etc. so they aren't timid for their new families. We also have two cats that believe they are dogs and play with the puppies, we regularly find the puppies and cats cuddled up together.

Sheepadoodles.org: What sort of support do you offer the new owners once the puppy is in their home?

Jill from Poodles2doodles.com: We offer all our families lifetime breeder support. We also have private FB groups for every litter so families are able to stay in contact with other families from same litter. We also have an open door return policy, for any reason a family can't continue to care for their puppy they come back here and we work with them to find another family. No questions asked.
Sheepadoodles.org: What do you look for in potential new homes for your puppies?

Jill from Poodles2doodles.com: We understand all families are different, the most important qualities for us are financially stability as caring for a puppy is expensive from food to vet to grooming and we don't want those expenses to be a burden for any family. If a family has had a previous pet we like to speak to their vet. In our years of breeding we have found that building strong relationships with the families before the puppy goes home has been beneficial to us finding the best homes.
