What's the best food to feed my Sheepadoodle?  This can seem like an endless and complicated subject to try and tackle, but if you know about a few key ingredients it can simplify your research incredibly.  We made a chart and wrote a more in depth article found on this page that goes over decoding your pup's food and what things to look for and what things to avoid.  We also review several types of popular dog foods and give our recommendations on this page.  And finally, there has been so much buzz around Amazon's "Wag" dog and puppy food that we dedicated an entire page complete with an easy to read chart on this page.
Determining how much and how often to feed your pup will be easy once you have selected the food.  Each food is labeled with a chart so it will be easy for you to determine how much to give your pup based on her weight.  And it's always a great idea to consult with your veterinarian before changing your pup's food.

How to make meal time interesting

Dogs are scavengers by nature.  Meal times are usually over within minutes as your puppy gulps down her food from her bowl.  Eating so quickly can cause dogs to be bloated, increase obesity and even choke.  There are many ways that you can make meal time beneficial for her by appealing to her scavenging side and engaging her brain.  And it will keep her busy for longer which will be beneficial to you!  

1. Stuff a Kong dog toy.  Kongs are awesome!!  The classic toy is perfect for stuffing and feeding your dog a meal.  Stuffing a Kong is simple.  Alternate with your dry and wet dog food.  The Kong can be stuffed a night or more in advance and left in the freezer making it more challenging and slowing your dog down more.  
2. Slow feeder bowls are also great for slowing down your pup.  Be sure to get the appropriate size for your pup.  These are wonderful bowls cause it will slow your dogs' eating down and takes no extra time for you to fill.  
3. Simply scatter your dog's food on the floor or outside on the ground.  This is a free option and has the same slowing and scavenging effect for your pup.  The down side is that the dry food can be a bit of a mess on your floor if your dog doesn't get it all and outside in can attract mice or rats if some remains.
